Neuromuscular or Sports Massage is a deep tissue massage designed to relieve severe tension in the muscle and the connective tissue or fascia. This type of massage focuses on the muscles located below the surface of the top muscles. Deep tissue massage is often recommended for individuals who experience consistent pain, are involved in heavy physical activity (such as athletes), and patients who have sustained physical injury.
Relaxation / Swedish Massage- Swedish massage techniques include: long strokes, kneading, friction, tapping, percussion, vibration, effleurage, and shaking motions. Swedish massage feels good, is relaxing and invigorating. It affects the nerves, muscles, glands, and circulation, while promoting health and well being.
Acupressure is an ancient healing art using the fingers to gradually press key healing points, which stimulate the body's natural self-curative abilities.
Reflexology Is the application of pressure points to the muscles of hands and feet based on the principle that there are reflexes in the feet and hands which correspond to each area of the body. Stimulation of the pressure points increases circulation and promotes improvements in specific bodily and muscular functions.
Craniosacral Therapy- A gentle method of manipulating the body's craniosacral system (consisting of thin membranes and cerebrspinal fluid which surronds and protects the brain and spinal cord) in an attempt to improve the function of the central nervous system, dissipate the negative effets of stress and enhance health and resistance to disease.
Lymph Drainage Massage- The lymphatic system supports the body's immunity function and involves several organs (adenoids, thymus, tonsils, spleen), hundreds of lymph nodes, and a network of vessels. The massage strokes are light and there should be no discomfort. Lymphatic drainage helps correct swelling and stagnation in the nodes, boosts the immune system, reduces fluid retention and provides relaxation.
Prenatal Massage- Massage therapy during pregnancy is a wonderful complementary choice for prenatal care. It is a healthy way to reduce stress and promote overall wellness. Massage relieves many of the normal discomforts experienced during pregnancy, such as backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches and edema (or swelling). In addition, massage reduces stress on weight-bearing joints, encourages blood and lymph circulation, helps to relax nervous tension-which aids in better sleep-and can help relieve depression or anxiety caused by hormonal changes.
Demi- Massage (30 minutes)- Ideal for half the body treatment of upper or lower body aches and pains.
Express Massage (15 minutes) - Take a quick break and release aching neck, shoulder and back muscles.
